I have (had?) the box set of Sapphire and Steel. It was a great show, very atmospheric. My wife still gets scared on the man with no face from the photo.

Watching it more recently though and you realise how slow shows were back then. It feels like it's plodding along and could do with a decent amount of editing to speed things up.

I’ve just watched the 4th episode of season 1, Sapphire and Steel. I don’t recall this storyline. It’s maybe later episodes I’m remembering. How many seasons are there?

Another one sprang to mind. Tales of the Unexpected. Friday nights?

The one with the man with no face is from series 2 serial/story 4.

There were 4 series in all, but 6 stories in total. That is, 2 stories in the first series, 2 stories in the second series, then one story in series 3 and one story in series 4. Each story was told over 4 to 8 episodes.

There's a total of 34 episodes. So if you have only just watched the 4th episode then you have 30 more to go!

BTW, I think S&S is due a revival, with a new series - perhaps a spin-off rather than a continuation or replacement. Perhaps similar stories featuring a different couple of elements.

Some great ones have been mentioned - loved The Wonder Years and Midnight Caller. I used to like The Flying Doctors too!

I'd love to see things like Byker Grove and some original Neighbours or Home and Away as I haven't watched them since i was in the early teens.

They keep popping up in my head, I think it was the Australian soap mention there that did it. The Thorn Birds. Loved that series.
