We have to do the same !
Ours are 16 and 21
Currently they are upstairs and we are waiting for DS to fall asleep before we can play Santa 🎅
I have to come down the stairs in the morning first with them a couple of yards behind while I check and confirm that Santa has been !

The other odd : traditional thing is that they always share a room together on Xmas eve . Harks back to years ago when one of them was scared of Santa being in the house so slept in the same room for security

My DS mattress on the floor in my DD room

This is lovely, mine aren’t even in they are watching Star Wars together, they also saw it on Saturday together. Usually oldest ds would be with them but he’s in Canada with his fiancée and is seeing Star Wars after Christmas lunch on Christmas Day. My two fight but seem get on ok at Christmas time x

Hi. for the last 4 years we have had takeaway for Christmas, still have a Christmas dinner just not on the day. I wish we had done this when the kids were small as I spent more time in the kitchen than playing with them and their new things.

It started when I won cinema tickets to see home alone one Xmas eve. I was in panic mode " cant possibly go ,too much to do " but i was forced into it and realised that yes you can chill out for a while.
Ever since then we go to the cinema on Xmas eve , it was frozen 2 this year

Not sure if others do this?
We don’t do it now but when I was younger we did a thing called ‘table presents’ so after dinner we would exchange gifts at the table. Just novelty bits no more than like £5 but t was just an added little extra when all the other presents had been opened which was fab as a kid

On Christmas morning our children only opened their stockings and the main presents were only opened after the main meal. At our daughter's yesterday we didn't open the main presents until about 7.30pm. Our daughter was a bit horrified that her brother video called us in the morning to find that his Partner's 5 year old son had opened all of his presents. She loves her tradition

And Christmas Eve I always go to the midnight service in my Santa suit as the vicar likes to give me a blessing

God that brings back memories! My mum used to always do table presents for us all, like you say something little to open as an added extra.
We also had Christmas Tree presents that weren’t allowed to be opened until the evening. It was great as a kid as it extended the excitement all day
