first ever cruise - LA to mexico (cabo, mazatlan, puerto vallarta)

so we're going on our first cruise soon on norwegian joy.

we have the upgraded food and drinks packages, so it's gonna be a pretty boozy do

any tips, tricks or suggestions for things to do onboard?

also, any suggestions of things to do in cabo san lucas, mazatlan or puerto vallarta? none of the cruise excursions are really doing it for me. so far, we have a couple of places in cabo that we got off diners, drive-ins and dives...

In Cabo try to go to The Giggling Marlin. It’s a great fun bar!
For a lunch stop The office on the Beach in Cabo is worth a visit. Or just to get a T-shirt

We did a whale watching trip in Cabo - saw loads of whales. Can’t remember who we did it with but it was a nice trip.
In Mazatlan we just wandered around and had a few beers.

The boat trips in Cabo to the rocks is about $10 a head - great value at about 1/6th of the cost of the onboard price.
