Mobile Section 75 cover for Cruise?

Morning Dibbers
I hope everyone is keeping safe and well. I just wondered if anyone had knowledge of what might apply in this situation...
We have a cruise booked this summer from LA, booked directly with Carnival. It is likely they will cancel and we will be able to take a refund or a credit to be applied to a future cruise. We would like to take the credit and book a cruise for 2021, as we’d like to support the industry, however this booking would not be covered by our travel insurance so if the cruise industry suffers and goes under we would lose our money. If we booked a more expensive cabin and paid the extra on our credit card, would we have section 75 cover? Does it cover transactions made outside of the uk?
Many thanks if anyone has any knowledge about this.

I don’t think we would, as the voucher wouldn’t be covered by travel insurance. As it stands, although I have end supplier failure on my Nationwide Flex travel insurance, it doesn’t specify cruise lines in the list of coverage, however I paid by credit card so I would hope I’m covered on my current booking. However a future booking paid by voucher would have no protection, unless we possibly upgraded to make it just above the value of the voucher, and paid the difference on a credit card? At least that’s what I’m wondering and hoping.
