comic con atlanta

good morning everyone

i prob know the answer to this already or should i say that nobody knows the answer to this but here it goes

my son booked a solo trip to atlanta (first time travelling alone)
to go to comic con
it is on 6th september

Do you think this will prob be cancelled? I am worried that it is cancelled but the flights are not he will be stuck there with nothing to do

what would you do?

Hmmm this is a tough one given we know so little about the future for things like this.

However, my thinking would be along lines of this.

These cons are often huge crowds crammed into rooms etc in a hotel or convention centre and the organisers would need insurance to hold such an event.

I could see an insurer requesting at the very least, that some basic social distancing, cleaning facilities being enforced, so not meet / greet with the stars, no sitting in an auditorium with hundreds of others etc.

I think events like this, might not happen until such time as a vaccine is out and people have got it.

But what do I know...

If its Dragon Con the feeling is that it will be cancelled, I have friends who are guests and they don't believe it will go ahead. There has been no official word as of yet but I cannot see it happening, the attendance is usually around 60 to 80 thousand over the 5 day weekend so that's a lot of chances for the virus to be passed around.
