Apologies for my apparent tetchiness, but I read "according to twitter" or "according to Facebook" lines a lot and it's meaningless unless it is actually Twitter or Facebook issuing a communication, and invariably it isn't.

"According to a post from XXXXXXX which I saw on twitter... " is a lot better way of framing what you were trying to say.

Peace.
I mean does it really matter? I don't see why you had to post what you did, it was completely out of order, it's just a minor technicality, and completely goes off topic that OP was posting about.

It's not a technicality though, is it?

It's like me saying "According to the Dibb..." when referring to a post someone on here has made. It wouldn't be according to the Dibb at all, it would be according to a Dibb member.

Does it really matter? Of course not, particularly at the moment of course. As I said, it's a thing that has long annoyed me. See also:

- People who write LOL after one of their own posts which, at best, was mildly amusing and almost certainly did not lead to them guffawing at high volume.

- People who write "should of" / "could of" / "would of" when the word they should HAVE been using is "have".

- my children.
