Wondering where you flew in and out of when doing Yellowstone and Grand Tetons- was it a direct flight from UK?

We did Zion, Lake Powell, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, Vegas, Death Valley, Mammoth Lakes, Yosemite and San Fran last summer and it was amazing. Thinking about the next road trip focusing on natural scenery rather than city sights and finding this thread very interesting.
Interested in the Yellowstone/Grand Tetons example and the Denver based example- research to do . Anyone able to share any other trips?

We love road tripping. We did Route 66 a few years ago which was amazing. LA to Miami taking in Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans the year after. This year we are booked to fly in and out of LA, shipping our motorcycle over. Riding to South Dakota, down through Colorado and back to LA via Yosemite. Probably not going to happen sadly but nothing we can do. Hopefully we can book for next September.

We were due to fly to Chicago tomorrow to start our Route 66 road trip. We’ve been really sad today as we kept getting check-in reminders for our flights even though they are, of course, cancelled. It would have been our first USA road trip and we’re hoping to rebook for later this year or more likely next year. As well as the 8 states on the route itself, we were taking side trips to Monument Valley, Grand Canyon and Las Vegas.

Once we’ve completed that trip we’d like to do a west coast road trip and one around Florida.

I’m so gutted for you Linda, a large glass of something strong for you both tonight! Fingers crossed you get to book for sooner rather than later x

We did NYC and then New England. We went to Cape Cod, Boston, Bar Harbor, White Mountains and Green Mountains.

One route I fancied but haven’t done is Washington D.C., Williamsburg, Outer Banks and Smokey Mountains.

I would also like to visit the South West - Nevada and Arizona.

Also the Deep South looks good, and Texas and ...

Thanks Alicia - we're gutted too. Unfortunately we're working tomorrow as we cancelled our leave so we consoled ourselves with strawberries and ice cream rather than alcohol

I love your trip list that you have planned. Be prepared for major stalking and copying on my part as you carry those out!
