I have never liked that song. I can see that it was technically an excellent piece of work, but it is not to my taste.

Same. I always found it a bit over the top and pretentious (many friends would vehemently disagree with me).

I think it was almost the prequel for all that mumbo jumbo by Yes with topographic oceans and other similar prog rock bands that could say nothing in a half hour track. Even Rick Wakeman concedes that much of what they did was utter and total b******s

I like stripped back, raw, heartfelt and simple music. That is why I have ranged through Motown, Aretha, Summer of love, CBGB stuff, Springsteen, Sex Pistols and Nirvana as the years have passed. They cut away all the rubbish and froth.

PS.
Sussex family, you chose the choices rather well as all 15 of them has votes.

Yes I saw that CFB, but it is the Final Round so we have eased out the less popular ones. Still hard to choose though.

If father and son by Cat Stevens had been on there, then it would have got my vote!

People forget it was a great song until it was shamelessly butchered by Ronan Keating... and then terminally slaughtered by Boysone.

When you get to the poll for the 2000s could you put a little pen picture against each of the girl groups please as I'm sure they're all the same

I'm still struggling with some of the 90's Brit Pop lads

I have voted on this poll and can I say, without being political, it embodies the best of proportional representation.

Saw him about 30 odd years ago. Just him, an acoustic guitar and a stool. Not even a band.

Mind you I thought we were going to see the Brummie comic
