Thank you everyone for your advice, it’s usually just me & Hubbie so we have a Group B medium car, don’t have any experience of a large car over in US apart from upgrade to Chrysler 300, I’ll get a price for a larger vehicle now

OP the edge is the (much) bigger relation of the Escape they are totally different vehicles.
Personally I wouldn’t want a minivan yuk! But each to their own 😆

Neither would I

However I would rather a Minivan than be shoulder to shoulder in an SUV

Yes, I think we had one year.
We not really into mini vans (I drive an rs) so like sporty but when you got 2 x 20 year olds spread out in back seat and ones a shopaholic they come in handy. We had mustang convertible when it was just the 2 of us 😉

I own one. It would be pretty cramped for space for your needs. A minivan would be better.

We had a Ford Edge, we were 3 adults and an 8yr old, and it was great but I wouldn't have wanted two adults and a child seat in the back

The Pacifica is a Minivan. Actually a very nice vehicle albeit still not that common in the minivan row. Most rentals are still the older style Dodge Caravan type.

Mmm. I would go for the Explorer as that's big. Still a pain for the 3rd row though but a much bigger cabin and a nice saving over the £312 price.

I've had an explorer, They are a big old beast, but really quite nice. Will be big enough for 4A,1C and luggage. However, they are quite tall, My wife (5'1 3/4") had "fun" getting into it :-)
