Disney cruises - cancellations
Does anyone know the situation is with the cruises? Have they cancelled them? Can we transfer the balance to Disney tickets or is getting a refund the most likely option?

Cancellations go to 27th July at the moment I think. We are due 15th August but not expecting it will happen. Not sure about what you can apply the refund to. If you have PIF you can get a 125% cruise credit or full refund if your cruise is cancelled.

If Disney cancel your cruise, they offer 100% refund OR 125% Future Cruise Credit, which can be applied to a future cruise 15 months from your original departure date.
You can not transfer the balance to park tickets as they are different parts of the Walt Disney Company. If Disney do not cancel your cruise but you no longer wish to travel, you can cancel before your paid in full date and recieve a refund on whatever amount you have paid. If you have paid in full , you will lose a % of the cost, depending on near the cruise departure date you cancel. |

You can use the 125% future cruise credit for a pre/post-cruise stay at WDW not sure if this would also cover tickets but not directly for tickets.
Updated I just read on a different forum that you can use the credit for multi-day park tickets (2-5 days) as well as for WDW stay but has to be either said of a cruise basically.

We have a cruise and stay package for Sept booked through WDTC. Bal is due in a couple of weeks. Phoned last week to investigate our options, to be told, as the booking involved a cruise and DCL haven't cancelled, then if we didn't pay balance we would forfeit the deposit. If the booking had been WDW only, we could cancel before balance due date without penalty. Doesn't seem to be fair, as if we pay balance and subsequently DCL cancel, (which I'm sure they will) we'll be stuck without accommodation for part of our trip. We're not going to go anyway, especially since the free DDP has been withdrawn, but would really like deposit back.

Disney cruise line today cancelled all of the Wonder sailing to October, due to the fact they departed from Canada. They also announced that if they cruise is cancelled and the balance is paid in full the future cruise credit compensation you can claim, can be used till March 2022, this before was only redeemable for 15months after the date of your sailing date.

The online announcement also had a little note saying they were relooking at the Magic sailing in October (WBTA) as this also goes to Canada but that at this time it is still going ahead. This has given me more hope we might get to cruise

We’re on fantasy in August, I’m patiently waiting to find out if it’ll be cancelled.
I wonder if there’ll be further announcements now they cancelled Wonder through to October. |

I think there's a chance August sailings might happen if I'm honest as DCL only needs about 3 weeks to get staff back and up to speed etc so it is possible especially on the Caribbean islands where things are already starting to look more promising.
