Port Canaveral Car Rental

Anyone experience of renting from Port Canaveral, thoughts on it for choice/availability?

Our August hol's gone tits-up (obviously), so we're changing to a Disney resort with Disney Cruise for Aug '21 (as a package), with seven days to ourselves for a DIY Keys road-trip.

Our August '20 car rental is thru Virgin Alamo (submitted the "form" to cancel, nary a response thus-far... but that's another thread), and have checked them (cheapest), DFCH, and Alamo Brits (most expensive).

Virgin Alamo has the Luxury car class on the books, but neither DFCH nor Brits show this?

Anyone rented from Canaveral before, I'm presuming it's more like DCCC where you're assigned a vehicle rather than MCO where you get to wander the rows?

Hi, we've hired a car from Port Canaveral post cruise a couple of times before and they have just given us keys and told which parking spot the car was in...no choice.
I'm sure if you really disliked the car you were assigned you could go back in to the office and request another one.

Cheers Richard 👍
Sounds a bit like Disney Car Care Centre then.

was this easy to do, we are looking to rent from Disney for a period of two week drop it off the port and get the shuttle and then book a second rental to get us back to Disney for the day. did you have to pre book the shuttles or anything

I've dropped a car off at PC, AVIS. No one way fee and as we were sailing to San Diego unlikely we'd be picking one up!

I did wait for the shuttle but as families arrived the shuttles are small and filled up quickly. I went out to the main road, ordered an UBER and was back at the ship for $8 without having to contend with a bunch of excited kids in a minibus.
