DVD Players

I know VA give out DVD players if the IFE is not working but can you take your own on and use it instead of the IFE?

My DD3 is very fussy about what she watches. Im just trying to make the flght as peaceful as possible.

I don't know about VA but every airline I've ever been on allows you to take and use any reasonably-sized electronic item on board as long as you switch it off during take-off and landing and any transmitting facilities it has are switched off (eg. it's in flight mode). So, yes, a personal DVD player is fine.

Just thought I'd also point out that batteries of DVD players often don't last long - typically just 2 hours or so. If you want to use it for longer, either get a back-up battery or check whether VA have power sockets available to use on board.

I took my DVD player this year no problem with VA,typically all the IFE worked for our party so didn't use it !
