Expedia hotel booking refund - how long?
I cancelled our night at RPR a few days ago - booked through Expedia. How long have people waited for the refund to appear back on their credit card? The reservation I had and cancelled through Hotels.com appeared back within 48 hours.

Can I ask when you were due to stay? I have Royal Pacific booked for August. So keeping a close eye on the situation as I’m sure you understand.

Yes, I’m doing that. Done it before. But when were you due to stay? I’ve just read that Universal is staying closed until 19th April.

Due to this virus, I wouldn't be surprised if rules will be re-written when it comes to refunds.
I cancelled my holiday with TUI last night for May, it seemed the sensible thing to do, I can't see May beng a viable safe travel date anymore so we jumped. Re-booked a cheaper holiday to Spain for next year but it remains to be seen whether the remaining chunk will be refunded and I'm not holding my breath either, I suspect it'll be a credit note or book another holiday. |

Such a shame. Gutted for you. I ask as we’re not due to go until July. A while off yet. But the way things are going I’m obviously concerned and so I’m interested to know at what point people are making the decision to cancel.

To be honest I’ve cancelled everything except flights and Disney as wanted to get refunds where I could and have the money safely back in my bank account. I’m holding off on Disney as DS doesn’t want me to cancel just yet - he doesn’t want to admit we won’t be going.
The flights are booked directly with Aer Lingus so I’m waiting to see if I can get a refund from them. If I can’t and Ireland is still enforcing the no non essential travel to the USA, even if Mr Trump lets us back in, our travel insurance will cover the cost of the flights. Am going to see what the next few weeks brings - if free dining appears for 2021 I’ll think about booking again but depends on cost as we will have to go in June. |
