Hi from a fellow spoonie.
I absolutely would not be able to make the trips we have without taking my scooter. I started off hiring one out there but now take my own with me (airlines will transport for free).
If you are at all unsure why not try by using a scooter from a Shopmobility scheme here in the UK first to see how you get on with it?
Believe me age is not a barrier to using one, I have of necessity been using a scooter for over 40 years now. I much prefer it to having to ask someone to push me in a wheelchair gives you far more independence.
