Ooh following, my in progress kitchen is very similar. Graphite shaker with wood block effect worktops, white metro tiles and a ceramic sink but I've gone for cup handles on the bottom units and knobs for the top. I was torn over midnight blue and graphite. I'll be painting the rest apple white. Your plans look great, hope it all goes smoothly

I just collected £900 of screwfix wiring stuff yesterday….

It’s hard as we are on a day rate with our general builder of £100 a day, £100 a day for the plasterer, £80 for the labourer if required (rarely) and our electrician/plumber/joiner of £150. We buy all parts using their discount, the kitchen from b&q etc and they come and do the work.
Our last kitchen cost £2.2k inc appliances, but we had a chimney breast removed, and a new basic bathroom suite inc tiles. 4 rooms plastered. Total cost was £11k
This house the kitchen cost £3.6k with only the oven, hob and extractor as we brought the rest with us.
Bathroom is done, but we’re creating a downstairs toilet, and 6 rooms plus the hall and stairs will need plastering. Total budget is £15k.
We do a lot ourselves and shop around though, and both us and the kitchen fitter are more than happy with the nicer b&q kitchens.

I think it’s defo a piece of string scenario; but really stressful so good luck
Those day rates are really good

We do have really great day rates as they are sort of friends of my DH. Only problem is with no fixed quote, just the day rate you have a finish date in your head and so have calculated the day rate, then it running on a fortnight adds thousands! But still 1000% cheaper than any other way.

Today the fireplace which whilst lovely was gas and needed to come out to allow for the cabinets we need was knocked out then bricked back up, and the bases of the sockets fitted. Turns out there was a beam but no lintel!

And a frame has been put in place for the toile

There is dust everywhere, but really happy with 2 days of progress
