Is there no old family rings your parents might have stashed away not getting worn?
We do, and I hated the idea of buying more when there was lots in a cupboard upstairs. I’ve been with John for 13 years and he proposed last February knowing how I felt him and my mum chose an old ring to propose with that my nan had given my mum, we might pick a new one together in a few years. My Nan recently passed away so I will use her wedding ring 🥰 Good luck 🥰🥰🥰

I’m sure you will be able to try on. OH tried absolutely loads!
I actually bought mine second hand. I’d been hunting for ages and as we walked last a little antiques store I saw exactly what I’d wanted. When it was the perfect fit I knew it was meant to be. Let’s just hope the original wearer was happily married! You’ll most likely get a far better quality ring for your budget if you have a look at some auctions or antiques stores Edited at 10:44 PM. |

That’s a beautiful ring. And a lovely story behind it.
Unfortunately my mum isn’t like that and I don’t have that sort of relationship with her. There is no way she would ever let me wear anything of hers let alone a ring. When my nana passed away, my mum and aunties cashed in her jewellery for money. I was devastated as there were a few pieces I would have happily paid them money for, but I wasn’t even asked. My nana on my dads side passed away recently and I would’ve loved to wear something of hers, but unfortunately all of her jewellery has gone to my auntie. |

My mum said similar about her wedding ring. It's a plain gold band but when my dad suggested she could replace it, she was adamant that she could not.
Her wedding ring was the one that was put on her finger on her wedding date. She's all for shiny new rings but that plain band, whatever it cost back in the 80's cannot be swapped out. Love it |
