Yorkshire puddings and mushy peas! Both an absolute must. By the way Christmas dinner is the only roast dinner we have mushy peas with.

Definitely Yorkshire pudding with a roast. Not traditional, but lovely.

If you are having roast potatoes then the law states there must be Yorkshire puds. It is the law after all...

[QUOTE=FamilyGWales;14213052]OMG - you have lost me here. Mushy peas on Christmas dinner. 🤢. Mind you am not a fan at anytime really...
Is that a family or local tradition ?[/QUOTE Yes it is tradition in our family. Oddly though I do know others that have mushy peas with their Christmas dinner. |

It’s the only time we don’t have them with a roast , mum always says it would just be another Sunday dinner ( which we have every week without fail ) and the size of hers we wouldn’t get everything else on the plate . And yes we are yorkshire born and bred.

I grew up in Lancashire and we only had Yorkshire puddings (one each) with roast beef. Since moving to yorkshire (Leeds) my husband insists that we have Yorkshire’s (multiple per person) with every type of roast dinner, Christmas Day included (and they have to be homemade! )

Oh my goodness, I am really surprised at the results. We love Yorkshire puddings and have them with anything (as I mentioned on your other thread) but I have never come across them on Christmas dinner before. I am gob smacked.
I have just seen a thread about mash on Christmas lunch too. The world has gone crazy. |

I always thought that Yorkshire puds go with beef, we don’t have them, already too much on the plate to worry about cooking them
