I just had a look and the Mars Bar, Snickers and Topic all contain chocolate, caramel and nougat.

I've never thought of the nutty ones as nutty Mars Bars, so maybe they're in different proportions.

Fundamentally, yes. The manufacturer will have a basic formulation for chocolate, nougat, caramel and kibbled/broken nuts (whichever variety they choose to use). They'll then combine them in varying inclusion %ages and you will end up with: Milky Way, Mars Bar, Snickers... The variation in the inclusions will no doubt give you the differences in colour and flavour.
Its all about the money... ! If you add nuts (expensive raw material) you're going to need to reduce the cost by changing something else...

But my question was, if you simply added nuts to a Mars Bars, do you get a Snickers, and I don’t believe that to be the case. But then I don’t think you do either, as you’ve detailed changing quantities

In a simplistic way the answer is yes, purely adding nuts to a Mars Bar gives you Snickers
As taking away the caramel from a Mars Bar would give you a Milky Way.
But, the non-simplistic answer would be no. They are completely different confectionary items with different formulations to give them their unique textures and flavours...

Next question.

Are the Aldi knock offs as good as the Mars originals?

I say, Yes.

Oooh, good question! My Dad usually plies the kids with Titan bars! I like them, but think they’re a lot sweeter than the original. I can almost hear my teeth squealing as I eat one! But at 10p for 8, or whatever they cost, I’ll take that

But that's like saying a diamond and graphite are the same thing, which they are not. Both are made from pure carbon but its how its prepared and made that makes them totally different.
