DVC newbie
I am so sorry to be a pain but I have SO many questions.
We are booked direct with Disney for October 2022 at BC. The offer that’s been announced doesn’t include October and I really need to get the cost of the holiday down but don’t want to compromise with location. I’ve started to look into point rental but have a few questions and I hope someone can help me: 1. Do you get parking included with point rental? 2. Are you able to buy the dining plan if you are renting points and how do you do that? (I know it’s not back at the moment) 3. Are there any differences in experience going DVC rental over a standard hotel room? 4. If the DVC point experience is better than hotel rooms why don’t more people do it? 5. Where would I start if I wanted to look at the price of renting points for 10 nights at BCV next October? |

1. Yes
2. Yes, the member who you rent from can add it for you. 3. You don't get daily housekeeping in a DVC room. They will empty the bins as part of the security check and do one trash and towels and one full clean in an eight day stay. 4. It's not as widely known as people think, they are many people who don't read discussions boards etc and even more who just book with a travel agent for ease. The difficult to change/non- refundable bit puts people of too. 5. Have a look at David's DVC rental - you can calculate points requirements based on date & room size. You can then decide whether to rent from a company or search this or other boards/Facebook for a private rental. |

DrJ has answered your questions but just to add for the DDP question, you pay the US price not the UK one- FX rate can make a difference, as couple of years ago there was nearly a £10/person/day difference as the UK rate had been set at the start of the year!
Also worth mentioning that the minimum you will get in a studio is a microwave, toaster & coffee maker versus a typical Disney room of just a coffee maker SD

This is all so helpful thank you. I’ve been doing more reading and I think this might work best for us - I do love housekeeping and the bed set up more for a hotel room BUT this is considerably cheaper and the car parking charges really really annoy me. So much so we were forgoing a car on principle - so looks like DVC is the way forward.
I think the dining plan will be back in 2022. |

Studios at Old key West have two queen beds like a standard US hotel room.
I'm not sure about the dining plan though. |

Final question. (I hope)
Can you do a split stay? If you do how does dining plan work? I know when you stay in the hotels you have to link dining plan to tickets to reservation and you can’t have it run across the whole duration but didn’t know if that was possible with DVC |

Yes,
You just buy the dining plan for each stay. There is no ticket requirement for DVC dining plan purchase but each person named on the reservation has to be included. |
