We lived out on Long Island because the schools were better, and he commuted home on weekends. I loved GI! The best view of the city from anywhere.

The principal of the school on the base lost her position while we were there and the gentleman who took over worked hard to improve it. She thought she was safe since most families were there a maximum of four years. It was an officer’s wife (I believe he was Army) who was there longer who pulled her kids out of the school and brought a case against her and won.

Especially for OP Sail celebrating the Bicentennial in 1976. We had the VIP view!
