I totally understand about getting everything booked.
We have visited friends that stayed at LBV resort, the location is great and the apartment was huge. Not far to Longhorns, Bahama Breeze and DS either. So when you go zip lining make sure you wear something brightly coloured for the family members watching below. We took my Aunt on our trip to Niagara and she was taking pics of DH as he wizzed by only to find out later that she had taken photos of some random stranger! We still laugh about it! Wow that all sounds amazing! You're going to have a wonderful time.
We stayed at the Plantation Inn at Crystal River and it was absolutely beautiful. The pool was huge and I think I had one of the best meals of our trip in the restaurant there. I got a good deal on it too (which was remarked on at check in!) so there's deals to be had. See my trip report in index. They do boats from there too. Manatees often stay around the Crystal River area all year apparently. We were a bit unlucky that the water was cloudy due to previous storm and flooding when we went. In Toronto we stayed at the Eden, near the Eden Center. I know it was a good location but can't remember that much about it as was so long ago!

I have stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Toronto as its near the CN Tower and harbour - coincidently BA cabin crew on my flight stayed there and we ended up all going out for a night and a harbour cruise the next day.

I'm sure Niagara has an airport as our friends flew from there to visit us in Orlando!

No further advice but wanted to say you'll love it, I luckily have family in Mississauga and near Guelph and so have had free accommodation for my five trips. I love Toronto, try and go to the islands if the weather is nice, it is a beautiful. Riding the street cars gives you a good taste of some of the different neighbourhoods. The transport system is so easy to navigate. Check out the harbour front, there is some interesting art and sculptures.
Niagara is a bit tacky at the falls, but drive aittle further afield and there are some nice spots. Shakespeare with is further inland us lovely. I've flown out of both Pearson and Hamilton, there was long queues at the former for immigration, fine flying out and a few options for refreshments, Hamilton much smaller, so less people but also less food options. |

Niagara is a little tacky it's true but it's the only tacky place I enjoyed nevertheless. I hated Vegas for example and would only go back if using it as a start/end point for a road trip. But Niagara has a charm despite the tackiness and of course the falls very much live up to expectations so you can forgive souvenir shops and the like.

I am like you.
I figure that Niagara will be a little tacky.. but it is at the end of the day, Niagara. An absolute highlight for me will be that night in the Hilton, sipping Wine and taking in a view from the room of both Niagara and Horseshoe falls, illuminated. I may yet reach Vegas on 31 August as last stop on a Road/Air/Road trip after seeing SFO, Monterey, Big Sue, Pismo, Solvang, Universal, a famous Fountain and a Bar at Warner Bros, Davis Monthan, Tombstone, a corner in Winslow Arizona, Hrand Canyon and Hoover Dam. I will stay in Vegas for 2 nights and doubtless be underwhealmed. I would never travel specifically to Vegas. |
