I have just booked for next year after having 20 and 21 cancelled.

I’d previously booked with Ba and have done again. They (for us anyway) have the best prices and during cancellations I had no issues with getting money back.

I know people had to while ages for tui and virgin to pay out.

As for prices, not bad.
I’ve booked lhr-mco 3a2c and 7 nights at cabana bay for £2910.
So if you take off the hotel which is circa £1100. We got the flights for £1800 or £360pp.
Not quite the correct split as the kids are cheaper (less tax)
That’s for May half term.

Car hire prices are really high atm due to lack of supply. So wait a while on that.

Villa, I’ve booked a 4bed at Encanata £870. Booked through vrbo and can cancel with full refund until April 2022.

For insurance, my mum is 72 and had a heart valve replaced in 2017. She also has RA. She gets her insurance through her bank account with Barclays and just pays for the travel pack for six months. It’s circa £100.

For most travel insurance (or any insurance for that matter) it’s all about the risk. If your condition is now stable/under control the risk of needing care while away is less than somebody with an unstable condition for example.

The amount of different medication also makes a difference.

That's amazing flight prices, I've been looking on ba website for 14 nights 21/5 - 4/6 so the second week of which is also half term and I can't get even one direction for under £400, let alone return. Are they direct flights? Sounds like you've got a great deal 😁

Yes direct, lhr was much cheaper than lgw. Then returning from Mia was another £260 cheaper.

Flying on a Saturday is your problem, always going to be higher. We fly out on a Wednesday and back on Friday.
Just checked, if you can do thurs-thurs 2a2a is £2138 lgw-mco direct.

Then adding on the hotel I was going to book anyway took the combined price down.

The flights on their own were £2422, still not bad. Also if you add the hotel (or car) it’s then a package and only pay £150 deposit.

Thanks, yes sat - sat is a real nuisance. Am going wait til other airlines release their flights and if prices don't drop I'll see what we can do about travelling other days. Not ideal but big savings to be made!

Travel insurance - also try ‘insurance with’ I have been doing vairous quotes for my husband who had cancer, and they are coming in way under the others. Good to Go, or All clear, are others to try.
