Magic bands - where to buy them

Hi everyone,
Now that Disney don’t give you a Magicband when you check in anymore, I’ve been looking at buying them. On MDE it shows a range of choices available (see attached pic) but when I go into the store, that selection isn’t there. Am I missing something?

You can't purchase them outside the US at the moment, functionality has been disabled. If it is added again, you'll be able to preorder but they are still shipped to the resort for collection. They do not ship outside the US.

If you need delivery to the UK before your trip, your only option is a third party reseller on eBay or similar. If you go this route, make sure they are new and linkable as they can't be transferred between MDE accounts after being linked.

Otherwise you can still purchase after you arrive at any location selling them in Disney Springs, the parks or the outlets.

No you are not missing anything, magic bands cannot be purchased from the UK. You will need to wait until you get there, if you have old ones you could bring those.

Double Boxed toys is a great place to buy them if you'd rather receive them before you leave. They are a trustworthy re-seller of Disney merch in the UK and have loads to choose from

Is there still a Disney store in MCO where you can buy them?

As people have said, Disney don't ship to the UK, so unless you buy through a third party you'll have to wait until you get to the US.
Depending on how soon you want them after arrival, you can get them at MCO, Disney Springs, Disney parks and Disney hotels. You can also get them from Character Outlets, but you won't know how old they are - long range batteries last around two years.
You should be able to access the parks using your plastic tickets, so you don't actually need a band, although they are sooo convenient.
The specific designs in the picture posted may have been discontinued - they bring out new designs and retire old ones quite frequently.

Its been mentioned elsewhere on the forum about using a VPN service (Surfshark etc) to trick the internet into thinking you are in the USA.

You can then go onto the American version of the Disney store website and order magicbands from the US for delivery to your hotel ready for collection when you check in. As soon as we have confirmation that we can actually travel this is the route I am planning to go down. (Its a shame that Disney havent made this a little easier for overseas guests to order these in advance of our stays).

It was always very easy to preorder a magic band. Disney have made a deliberate change to make it it harder for overseas guests due to the uncertainty of international travel. I expect they ended up with hundreds of thousands of unwanted magic bands in resorts last year and that led to the change.

If magic bands are still widely used, when travel opens up they may revert to allowing preordering, but I think they could be going a different direction altogether.
