Do they usually reply to emails? Have you got upgraded before thanks to emailing?
I've sent an email to Cheyenne a few weeks back in regards to something else and never got a reply, just wondering if it's worth sending them an email about an upgrade (seeing as i won't be checking in to my hotel until park closes after 8pm)

I'm going to email tonight and see fingers crossed.
I ways think how lucky people are who get up graded, has never happened to me. My brother gets all that luck. |

I wouldn't ask for an upgrade, but seen people saying they have emailed saying how excited they are and what they are celebrating and then they got an upgrade. Is this what you have done?

We usually tell them on the phone or by email if we are celebrating something, and have received things like a note in the room with some chocolate coins, or a voucher for something.
I know some people who have booked a lodge room at Sequoia Lodge were upgraded to the main building, but I have never been so lucky. We did find when we stayed at the DLH for our 15th anniversary, that our room had a balcony which I think might have been a small upgrade from the standard room we booked. I wouldn't count on any sort of upgrade, personally.

Gill H is pretty much spot-on, if we're celebrating I email the hotel to let them know, thats where our upgrades have come from - but it doesn't happen every time, and I always go not expecting anything other than the hotel and room I've booked and paid for.

I emailed yesterday, mentio.ing we would be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. We shall see on Sunday. Fingers crossed.

Stuck in the Tower of Terror

I stayed in Sequoia lodge with my partner last year in September for his birthday. I emailed guest relations, mentioning that it was his birthday and if there was anything that could be put in the room as a nice welcome. I also requested a king bedded room as opposed to two doubles.
I wasn't expecting anything, however when we checked in, the receptionist was excited and told me she had a lovely room for us with a king bed. They had upgraded us from a room in one of the lodges behind the main building to the main building, on the top floor, far corner with a large balcony overlooking lake Disney. I was astounded, wasn't expecting it! |

That's amazing! It's wonderful when they do little things like this! Does anyone know how far in advance they chose the rooms for you? Is it worth emailing them a week before you go or earlier?
