Has anyone been to Vegas in December?

I have changed my job which now allows me to take time off in December , which is when my birthday is. Been to Vegas 8 times, so not a newbie, but the latest I’ve been is October. I’m 50 next year, and I do have a big trip booked for May as that’s when we normally go away as it’s dh birthday and our anniversary, but since the job change I’m toying with a trip on my actual big day. Not sure yet if I will but thought I would ask if anyone has been.
I guess I’m a bit worried that some of the ‘dazzle’ that I love might be missing as it’s not hot and sunny.

We were there the first week of December, some shows are down, big performers mostly aren't there, apparently it's to do with the time after Thanksgiving being almost a dark time. The rodeo is supposedly in town around this time, so the place was full of gambling cowboys (this info was from a taxi driver so I dont know if that's a regular amount of cowboys)
The outdoor pools are closed, and temperature wise it was jeans and tee shirt at best, jumper at worst, not big coat weather.
We didn't have anything to compare to as it was our first time, so can't really judge

Rodeo weekend actually livens things up a bit and makes things a bit busier even in the hotels where it's business as usual without rodeo events. I did get caught out as I didn't allow for the longer than usual security lines and missed my flight home on the Monday morning <whoops> (another story in itself as I was on two seperate tickets so missed my JFK LHR flight)
I've needed coat and gloves in December one trip (it was actually starting to snow as I left) othertimes it's been mild in the day but needed a jacket or coat in the evenings.
It's less of a mix of people in December as it's more about the casinos as there's no pool scene/sunseekers.

I’ve been during the last week of November. It was very pleasant weather wise. We were wearing T-shirts while the locals were wearing coats! We usually go in March and didn’t notice any difference in atmosphere really. The thanksgiving sales were on and the Christmas decorations were up so it was a different vibe but still very enjoyable. I’d definitely go in December.

Been to Vegas lots of times in December, really like it at this time. Can get a bit chilly on a night sometimes.

Yes been a few times in December and going again this December. Not normally shorts weather but mild and a jacket at night. Having said that you could get rain and it be cold. I love December as its not so crowded and I hate the heat. Just been last week and it was 104 degrees some days. Too hot for me. All of the hotels will be decorated for Christmas which is lovely. I love December in Vegas.

Thanks for all the replies. We have almost made a game out of trying to stay out of the heat when we go and dh definitely doesn’t like the heat. I think it would be lovely to see the Xmas decorations the hotels have. And I never gave the sales a thought, that would be great. I’m not in the slightest bit bothered about the pools being close, we don’t sunbathe.
As I said, we have a big holiday booked for the May and the following year is going to be busy, but the attraction of going there for my actual birthday is a big one. I can’t think of where else I would rather be. It’s looking like it could be on the cards.

I really enjoyed going in December as the temperature was nice and comfortable (not the 40c + that we experienced in July one year) and the Christmas decorations were all up. I agree the rodeo weekend was great and until reading this I had forgotten that I danced with a cowboy in the piano bar ;-)
I did venture into the hotel pool which was open and I regretted it as I caught a stinking cold but other than this it was a perfect time to go
