DVC Split Stay
It is our 7 month window today for our feb 2020 11 night stay.
We have our home resort (poly) booked but are looking at other options. We have been watching the availability and BLT has been our no 1 choice for all 11 nights but as of yesterday, 1 night bang in the middle of the holiday is now not available. So we are now looking at a split stay of Riviera (6 nights) then Poly (5 nights). We have a car so the split stay move will be easy but what would you do? The thought of staying at the Riviera while new is exciting !

I like a 5/6 split stay. I'd go with it.

We have done a split stay before (not intended but moved from SSR to AKL) and to be fair it made the holiday feel longer.

We did our first split stay last year. We did 7 nights a BWV then 5 nights at CCV, and finally 5 nights at POLY. This wasn't an issue and it was great leaving all our luggage with bell services and then having it delivered to our next resort.
Wouldn't hesitate to do a split stay again. |

Just get bell services to shift the cases.
I purposely book a split on anything 10 days or over. 5 or 6 days, then a new hotel to look forward to. An advantage of DVC. We also concentrate the park visits on the best hotel. So when at Poly concentrate on MK and maybe AK, when moving to Riviera, the Epcot resorts.

We have done lots of split stays, just gave the luggage to bell services to transfer, easy. That way we can enjoy different things at different resorts.
I have also been very lucky in the past as I have wait listed rooms and they have come up so the reservation got changed to the one I wanted in the first place. If you wait list as well you have nothing to loose. |

We virtually always do a split stay
As other have said Bell Services will move your luggage. They will even keep refrigerated items cold for you |

We like split stays too... but have waitlisted before and got a waitlist every time ( 3 times over the years ) if missing some in the middle of our stay. BUT although booking online I rang up and politely explained my frustrations and they made a note on their system and it has showed up in a few weeks as being complete... so do you roll the dice or book a spilt stay?

So, Riviera wasn't available, so we have gone with BLT for the first 6 nights, just a few days to wait until we can book the last 5.
Just shows, what is available in the weeks, days, hours before your booking window opens can all change very quickly ! But that's the beauty of DVC, we are so much more relaxed with where we stay and BLT is another new one to tick off.
