I keep ours on 16 until we all get in after work/school. I have it on between 18 and 20 during the evening and turn it back to 16 when we go to bed. I don’t think it comes on at night ever, set at 16. I don’t use the timer, I just use the thermostat to set the temp that I want really.

We have Hive so it's set at 14 from 10pm to 6am and 21 from 6am to 10pm. The thermostat is portable so I move it into the room I am working in. I cannot put up with being cold inside my own home. Our gas bill has actually gone down over the last year because we had a new efficient boiler installed after the 30 year old one we had died. That and Hive have made a real difference.

I have turned down the heating a couple of degrees this week ! It’s now 18° 5.30 to 7.30 am and 4pm to 9pm then 5° the rest of the time. Husband does try to increase it to 21° but I do control the hive ! Just put it on random at weekend depending on what we are doing. I don’t have the heating on on my day off because that’s my cleaning day.

I like the heat, ours is on all day at 22 and in the evenings we turn it up to 23 or 24. It goes off about 10pm and back on at 6.30am

Thermostat not on 24/7. Can think of better things to spend huge amounts of money on. Just turn the heating on if we are home and it's actually cold, max 1 hour a day. Usually stays around 18C in our house. Dressing gowns and slippers in the Winter. Windows open for a period each day to ventilate each floor

New build with highly efficient insulation and brand new boiler.

Hate being hot overnight too.

In the car however... crank that heating to max because I can't tolerate *real* cold 🥶

Does depend hugely on the house, ours is an old house and we have it set to 21. Do sometimes have it to 23 if it needs a boost for a bit. However below 22 and it’s cold 🥶
Cannot have it on overnight though, it’s too warm 😂
Ours is a Nest and I know people with new houses and they do stay warmer longer. We do close doors to separate rooms to keep the heat in too. 👍

That's what TRV's are for.
