To think that BBC is now probably one of the most "woke" channels

My Nan wouldn't let us watch

Not in front of the children... because the title said we shouldn't

Plus

I think it was my wife next door.. Hannah Gordon and John Alderton... because they were divorced

😂😂

We used to watch the Holiday programme, too. At one point I think it added the year to the end of the title, so ‘Holiday 96’? Judith Chalmers presented Wish You Were Here on the ‘other’ channel. Do you remember comedians commenting on the shade of her perpetual tan?

Love Jane and her travelogues, although I’m not sure about the bursting into song. Not because I don’t like her singing, I do, I’m just not sure it belongs in a travel programme. I couldn’t imagine Michael Palin doing a Monty Python sketch at the end of his.

After ‘The Cruise’ ended she got record deals (& does still tour to this day) but over the years she’s carved a presenting career out. Occasionally on Loose Women but generally fronting travel programmes.

When on a Rediffusion contract, nothing was off limits.

To make it so, would be akin to buying a cow but only milking one teat.

.
And anyone who holidayed a lot was (and still is actually) called Judith Chalmers.

I really enjoy Jane Macdonald’s travel shows whether in the uk or on cruises.
I must admit I was surprised to find that the friend that she always travels with who does her hair and doesn’t say much is actually a singer in her own right. She was actually Janes backing singer too at one point.

I really like her cruise shows and I also really like seeing some of her outfits, she always looks lovely and she uses Mia Tui bags which are firm dibber favourites!
