Covid requirements - getting stressed

Sounds silly but i am starting to stress about the requirements for 6 months time.
Vaccinations are easy enough to ensure for everyone, but its the day before test. What happens if someone tests positive. I know everyone is having this to deal with but I like to be prepared and I cant prepare for this.

This may change of course but I doubt it.

How do you do a pre-flight covid test?

I read something somewhere about pre flight tests or arrival tests, I cant remember and you will find out the result after arrival and may have to quarantine. Is this still true or is it a case that if you are negative the day before, you have nothing to worry about after boarding?

Our departure airport will be Dublin, just in case that makes any difference.

Hi,

These questions keep coming up. There are multiple threads you can check, and a sticky at the top of the forum.

Best advice - check the CDC website.

Come on, this is getting asked multiple times a day now. There’s like 3 threads below this one.
Besides, You’re not going for 6 months. It could change 10 times until then.

Read the DocHQ thread further down, Antigen test the day before via video call, but hold off til next Monday to see what the US plan as their policies are due to change next week.

Thank you, exactly what I need to hear, I can relax for a while. Stupid I know but started to panic 6 months early. This is what its done to me and at the beginning of Covid in 2019 I was always optimistic about it going away.

True, but I assume everyone is panicing for the same reasons. Plus we all just want to get away and relax.

Apologies but I may have said this a few times recently.

Testing rules changed THREE times during the 19 days that we were there in Nov/Dec.

If things haven't changed in 6 months then the World is going backwards again or the US will stick out like a sore thumb...

I'm sorry but it's really not worth stressing about, especially as you knew what you were signing up for when booking. Harsh reality but honestly it's not worth the stress.

Your airline will provide several links to various companies who do day before departure testing however from personal experience - ExpressTest are great.

As a brief rundown of what's currently required:

Negative LFT/PCR test 24 hours before.
Proof of vaccination unless you can provide suitable exemption documentation.
There is no arrival testing or quarantine requirement.

This is all outlined on the CDC website though.

I can also highly recommend the Sherpa Travel Restrictions tool found here:

apply.joinsherpa/travel-restrictions

You can enter where you depart and arrive including any connections if you have and it will outline all requirements for said country.

No idea why you are stressing, just take a deep breath - you can’t prepare for what will happen in 6 months time, no one can predict what it will be like, just focus on being in Florida you will get there - yes there may be tests and mask wearing but it’s all a very easy process and nothing to worry about
