Split stay Disney and tickets
Need a bit of reassurance, we have 14 day tickets and are staying on a WDTC package for 8 days then moving to DVC private rental for the rest of the holiday. It's showing our tickets as only valid for the first stay. After much kerfuffle Disney have given us park planning passes so we can keep our park reservations. Has anyone had this and did booking ADRs work ok and you kept your park reservations? Thanks 😊

I have a nine day stay and then a three day stay elsewhere, albeit still onsite.
I hadn’t given it any thought but have just looked and indeed the tickets do say that they are valid between date X and Y being the nine nights of my first stay. But they are 14 day tickets so I am not concerned, I believe in this context it actually means the ticket is valid for the *first park entry* between those dates, not that they are nine day tickets. I am not sure what kerfuffle you have been going through or what you mean by “park planning passes so that you can keep park reservations”. I have had no issues making park reservations or ADRs. I travel at the end of next month.

They always say that if your stay is shorter than 14 nights, but you can definitely still use them after you've moved offsite.
Not sure about the kerfuffle you're talking about though.

What are park planning passes? Never heard of them As above you have 14 day passes so there is no reason for "Disney" to be involved in your park reservations, why were they involved? Were you not able to make any ?

I’ve no idea what park planning passes are either 🤷🏼 We have a dvc stay , a onsite. comp stay ,a onsite paid stay and an offsite stay and 14 day magic tickets . I’ve done park reservations that cover the full 18 days . Your tickets are shown separately in mde .

A park planning pass is an ‘open ticket’ issued by WDW to enable the park reservation system to see a valid ticket is present to allow reservations to be made. Callie had one because we had a complimentary ticket for her that couldn’t be claimed or activated or linked to MDE until she arrived. The planning pass enabled me to plan her parks with us even though she technically hadn’t got a ticket.

Thank you for solving that mystery for us all. But still, there is no reason whatsoever that OP should have needed this.

the kerfuffle was that we got emails to say our park passes would be cancelled. At first disney couldn't sort this out for us but we kept trying. Thanks Al for putting my mind at ease!

Just found this thread as I noticed this on our tickets today. I know people have been fine etc in the past.
We are 7 days Yacht club which the tickets are attached too and then 7 days using our DVC points for Bay Lake Tower. I didn't have any issues with park reservations etc when I made these and haven't received any emails about cancellations etc. |

We have 1 paid night at POFQ, 5 free nights at Poly and then 5 paid nights at AKL. No issues booking our park reservations with our 14 day tickets and everything shows good on MDE
