ESTA - transit to another country

I have just completed my esta and thought I had completed correctly but now I am not so sure -

I ticked yes to transit to another country.

We fly into NYC, stay overnight and then fly to Jamaica the next day. On the return we fly to NYC and then stay 3 nights before returning to the UK.

Should I have ticked no?

I also ticked this as we have no holiday booked. I really don�t think it matters as it can cover numerous trips whilst it is valid.

Thank you for your quick reply, I have just called US customs and they said plans can change so that is ok. Only need to apply again if passport, name etc changes.
