Octopus energy price rise from 2nd April

I know prices for most are rising from tomorrow so meter readings should be taken today but my email from Octopus states new prices are from 2nd April. Has anyone else had this - obviously will be doing meter reading tomorrow as will have 1 more day at lower rates (especially as think the heating will be going back on later).

i think it would be prudent for everyone to submit readings today as the cap changes tomorrow. and theoretically those not on smart meters could over read it accidentally to get some small benefit in the slightly cheaper rates...

We are octopus now , we were avro but were moved to them when avro went bust. We took our readings yesterday and submitted them cos thought today websites might go down as I've seen lots of posts online about submitting readings, we have had our first quarterly billing for gas not electricity yet, we were a few hundred quid in credit but that took a hammering when that was deducted, assuming electric will be online anytime now?

On their website it says

The best day to give us a meter reading is this Saturday (our standard variable prices don't change until 00:00 Saturday 2nd April.) Make a note of your readings or take a photo of them on Saturday. When we receive this reading we will apply it to your account from 00:00 midnight on the Saturday. You will have a week to submit them to us, so please don't worry if you can't get it to us that day.

Smart meter customers do not need to send us a reading.
If you're on a Fixed tariff, it's always good to submit regular readings, but your prices won't be changing so we don't necessarily need one right now.

We were also moved from Avro. I had quarterly bills for both gas and electricity at the same time and can see both gas and electricity accounts online. Assume the volume of new accounts has meant that not everyone's accounts have been updated yet.

I would at least take a picture today.
Pictures prove very useful in meter disputes I have learnt.

Pictures with meter number also visible also valuable

Every energy company seems to be having issues with their websites and apps, lots of people on twitter saying they can’t submit readings. EonNext currently blaming Martin Lewis…
