RUMOR: WDW Planning to Charge Hotel Guests for Housekeeping

How do people feel about this if the rumour turns into reality?

I don’t mind not having housekeeping when we stay DVC.

However I think if you book a hotel it’s a pretty basic expectation. Especially at the prices disney charge for their rooms. So while we can and do manage without I don’t agree with it for the hotels.

This, exactly.

I agree. I also think it’s doing a lot of people out of a job as ‘most’ people would not choose to pay extra for housekeeping, especially as it costs a lot to stay already.

One thing I love about the hotel we stay at in Tenerife is the daily housekeeping. Proper housekeeping inc cleaning bathroom and disinfecting/mopping floors etc daily.

Having said that, I would never choose to pay for housekeeping.

This, it’s a basic requirement.

Won't do for me, I am on holiday, no bed making or bathroom/ toilet cleaning for me. Can stay at home and do that. What's next? Clean the swimming pool ? Mow the lawn ?

For the prices they already charge, daily house keeping should be standard. Other hotels (Universal) seem to be managing it post Covid, but this just feels like another case of paying for a service that was previously included.

We've got a split stay between Disney and universal in September, so I'll be interested to see what the differences are.

We just recently returned from a split stay at Port Orleans French Quarter, Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Polynesian. Reception stated house keeping happens every other day. The reality was that we got housekeeping 4 times in our 15 nights, the bed was never made and the floors weren't cleaned, the only thing that house keeping did was empty the bins and give us new towels. We complained about this but nothing changed.

Disgraceful given the cash sums paid. Utter contempt for the customer in my view.
