Cool Cabin case

So I have just bought two cabin cases that are hard shell, but am thinking maybe soft with pockets might be better
Do you like the hard shell or does it get annoying when you have to take things out like iPad etc. Or would you just put them in like your handbag?

I Have a small "Man Bag". everything i need on the flight is in that, and it goes under the seat in front. Case is fine, it's overhead, or in the cupboard at the back if in the bubble. I never need to access it in flight.

It's a matter of your own preference - The hard cases look really nice and don't get damaged so easily but... they slide around in the top box on the plane and there's a risk that they might slip out when the top box is opened - especially if there is turbulence during the flight.
We've seen it happen a couple of times so now use soft bags.

We have both and alternate between preferring hard, then soft with pockets, then hard, then soft etc.

We usually fly with BA so can take 2 x 23kg bags each as hand luggage. I take a hand bag (it’s a Cath Kidston one that it big enough for my iPad), a rucksack and a small hard case. My husband just takes a rucksack so we’re in our allowance overall. I like the hard case as I can fit 6 Bath and Body Works candles in on the return journey.

I prefer a hard case but I don’t open it on the flight. Anything I want on the flight is in my backpack which goes by my feet.

Cabin cases are awkward to access on board whether they are hard or soft cases.

We prefer the soft ones with pockets so you don't have to keep opening the case to get things . Handy if you go away for a short break and can only take one item of hand luggage in cabin, the pockets come in handy for passports, a book, tablet etc.
