We have the Staysure policy which covers you for cancellation if you test positive in the 14 days prior to the trip and covers you for covid related medical or isolation costs you may incur whilst abroad. £125 for 15 months for 2 adults (and 25% cashback on Topcashback).

We really want to go August 2021 (we cancelled August 2020) but my main concern at the moment is travel insurance cover - have you got out a specific COVID-cover plan?

I also have this policy - £135 for our family of 5 including 4 of us with health conditions - I think it's a bargain

I've gone for a Coverwise policy. £95 for a family of four for annual multi-trip cover with COVID cover!

As long as the advice is not still in place on the date you travel.

It looks like you can also buy an extension that covers you if you travel against fco advice but I wouldn't so didn't look into it

I've got my insurance from fingers crossed Ltd. They have a terrible reputation for paying out, but the policy is free!

Basically it was late at night, we were in bed browsing on the ipad, not expecting to see anything, we saw cheap flights and got giddy and booked them thinking we "should be ok".

The "should be ok" comes from me having an annual policy through work which I think will cover Covid. (I haven't double checked the email yet). I also saw something about moving flight dates for free if need be when we were booking, (but we didn't double check for small print) and it's on the credit card, so there are a few avenues open for refund. We just couldn't be bothered confirming them at 11pm at night, and didn't want to risk the prices going up. We got giddy at the price and booked. It's also booked direct with the airline which removes an element of risk.
