I’m one of the few people who didn’t like the book. I thought there was too much emphasis on making jokes about the age of the characters and their foibles. The mystery storyline was not that interesting for me and by the time I found out who the murderer was I didn’t really care. I know a lot who did enjoy it but it wasn’t one of my favourites and I haven’t read any further volumes. The castings for the film look great though so maybe I will watch that and see if I feel better about it.

The 1st book was my least favourite, it felt quite hard going and slow. The rest are better as it was easier to follow the story and each of the characters. The 4th book is by far my favourite, it had me crying by a pool in Spain as a sad part was so beautifully written.

I wonder if Henry Lloyd-Hughes is playing the character of Bogden? And Daniel Mays as Ron's son?

David Tennant is in it too, not sure who he's playing as he's way too skinny for the male police officer, unless they scrap him being overweight.

I didn't enjoy it either. Only read one and thought it was written for young adults. Really juvenile!

Pierce Brosnan is just wrong for that part - especially when all the others more closely fit the book descriptions.
