Right I’ve booked somewhere now so my latest questions can be ignored! Found a lovely rental on VRBO with a pool, half a block from the beach in the Bradenton area. Really happy with it and slightly under budget so even better!

Glad you've found somewhere now! We have 3 nights in Anna Maria next year booked & Bradenton looks fab too as we're looking to spend some time there too. Hope you enjoy it!

Thank you, I’m so looking forward to it! We went to Orlando in 2018 and I really wanted to go to AMI but couldn’t fit it in (well could have gone for the day, but didn’t want to have a rush visit). My son isn’t a big beach fan but he he’s only ever been to beaches in UK and Spain so think this my be a bit different!

I’ve now booked three nights at Hard Rock Hotel at Universal which should be great too. We didn’t do Universal last time we went, and kids will be ages 8 and 12 so good ages to really appreciate the rides I think.

Then we’ll have four nights somewhere else but I’m not going to book a thing til we get there, so we can see what we fancy doing. We may want to stay in Orlando to make the most of having passes for universal, or mat head over to to the Atlantic coast to see Daytona and meet up with family who live over there.

So looking forward to it! Just need to lose loads of weight now so that I can really enjoy it 😄

Bradenton beach is probably the best place for you with children..Holmes beach is a bit too touristy they made mistake and built higher rise condos there so beach gets crowded..AMI city is beautiful...but a bit high end and not much beach access.the bay side is more for boaty people...lovely to visit
They made a decision to not allow properties of more than 2 storeys (3 with under space for parking) to keep the relaxed laid back feel
There are several 7/11 style places dotted around
Parking can be difficult but you can use the free trolley!
You will have a great time
Good luck with those holiday plans!
