Flying with United?!

Am on a mission to get flights for less than £300 each return next October !

Have had a look this morning and can get indirect with United from Heathrow for $1600 so based on today's exchange rate about £1150

Two bits i am unsure about

- Buying direct from the airline in $$
- Layover on the way home is 50 minutes in Houston

Overall they look like ok flight times

LHR - MCO 8am arriving at 4pm - 2.45 layover in Newark

TPA - LHR 7.05pm arriving in LHR at 11.15am - 50 minute layover in houston

Anyone ever booked flights like this previously?

We have never flown indirect before so a bit nervous!

We have travelled with United indirect a couple of times and paid in $ which is not an issue.
You don't say how many are travelling so can't comment on price.
Layover of 50 minutes is doable or they wouldn't offer it and as it's on return I would risk it if the price is right.

We flew with United this year and had a short layover on way back of just 1 hour - we were a bit worried as you were but as ELLENUT said for the price we went for it. We were sat waiting for connecting flight to board with plenty of time. Was really seamless

No - hand luggage only - was another $400 to upgrade us all to standard economy

I wouldn't put a lot of faith in "its doable if they offer it". Your departure from Tampa doesn't have to be delayed by much to turn your bargain into a bad day.

Also you may find that you cannot book flights on the USA United website without a credit/debit card registered to a USA address. I could be wrong, but I know this was the case a few years back.
