Parking for Cambridge is not good though. If you need that then go to Cambridge North (just off the A14) where there is plenty of parking at all times of day.

You can get a train into either Kings Cross or St Pancras (Brighton train) from there.

Yes that's true. Cambridge North is literally 3 minutes off the A14. I have never parked there so cant advise on that.

Huntingdon may be another option being more central between Peterborough and Cambridge with a train into St Pancras which takes just over an hour.

Don't know what parking is like there though.

Ely would be another option.

I use Cambridge North sometimes in peak (drive there as it is easier to park) and you can usually get a seat there, or when it stops in Cambridge. But from there to Royston and onwards there is no hope of a seat being free. So would avoid Royston etc it if it is anytime before 11am.

Obviously may be different if people are not mass commuting into London in the future.
