SF, Seattle & Vegas in November

We’ve just rebooked our trip for November 2021 & added Vegas as it was so cheap! Anyone been at this time for year before? I know the weather probably won’t be warm but that doesn’t matter! I’ve been to SF & Vegas but not Seattle so I’m really looking forward to that the most! We want to go to Death Valley this time while in Vegas & Yosemite when we’re in SF. I really hope by November we can travel 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Yosemite in November may be closed, certainly the Tioga Pass and glacier point unless you are lucky.

Historical dates are at nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/seasonal.htm

You may be able to do day visits going other routes though but is really weather dependant.

Death Valley should be nice at that time of year, especially down on the valley floor.

Likewise Grand Canyon South rim which may also have a coat of snow at that time of year.

Does Yosemite close in winter? We’ll probably do an overnight stay haven’t decided just yet but if not it’ll be a day trip there. We’ve done the GC south rim in a day & it was grand.

It can be closed due to weather, and the pass is closed over winter but dates are weather driven. There are other routes in and some of the walks std may still be open.

Accommodation in the park area typically closed over winter, so you will need to research for your dates.

We have visited Vegas in mid November the weather was warmish in the day around 20 degrees but it got cold in the evening. The hotel pool wasn’t open outside either . There seemed to be loads of bargains & offers at the outlets but it was thanksgiving week .

Sorry I meant to add to my earlier post; we were in vest tops and shorts in the day most days with light jackets in the evening. There was the odd chilly day. Not much rain. This was Vegas.

Seattle was definitely chillier! Warm jackets and jeans, perhaps coats in the evening.

Our best holiday ever was our road trip from Seattle to San Francisco (see trip report below for some ideas). Yes, take some layers as the weather can change suddenly. Hoping to revisit Seattle in September (rebooked from 2019).
