Help with hire 7 seater people carrier

We haven't been since 2012, so I can't remember much from last time.
We are looking to book 2 x 7 seater people carriers for 2 weeks in August and the prices vary so much?
For example..
Alamo brits £1,756.56
Sixt via usrentacar £881.80
This price is per vehicle, does anyone know why the difference in price is so much?
What is the average price for a 7 seater for 2 weeks, we only need 1 driver per car if that's makes a difference.
Thanks in advance
Just to add I have just emailed Andy at discount florida car hire as I see he has been recommended several times

l booked a 7 seater caravan with Alamo Brits for £420 for November. That's with an extra driver as standard. It might be because its peak time.

OP. I am sure Andy will sort you out.
But Virgin are doing an Alamo 7 seater for £618 all in. Plus 2 drivers. I bet there are cheaper ones as well with Alamo that can be found with a bit of hunting.
Best of luck.

I found the same the prices had really increased for car hire compared to 2 years ago. All the usual such as Alamo brits and Floridacarhire etc were comming up with high quotes.

Try Travel Trolley. I managed to get a reasonable price for a mini van hire from Dollar for £572 for 2 weeks in July through them.

I appreciate not everybody can do it but I find I can never beat Alamo Brits if you book as soon as the dates are released for your particular trip. I used to always use Virgin for car hire and they have good prices but for the last 18 months can't compete with Brits for an early booking.

Plus I check and cancel/rebook if their prices drop albeit thats not very often. Strangely for Oct/Nov 18 I have now rebooked 4 times and saved a tad over £20.

Thank you all for your replies, Andy I will be in touch later to book, I just need to speak to the other family for the second car today but I’m sure they will be more than happy with that price and I will email you later. 😀
