Any update on the Dueling Dragons replacement?

I'm gutted it's gone, it's one of my favourite rides, for years I've been telling my Wife how much I've wanted to take her to Orlando to ride this but now we can't! 😢😢

I never had the chance to ride the duelling dragons but I loved the ride when I visited in 2016. It was such a smooth coaster, much better than Rip Ride Rocket (which almost broke my neck!) and Hulk (which was a tad too intense for me despite the recent refurb)
I really hope this isn’t a VR coaster, I hate the idea of wearing a claustrophobic headset that has been worn by thousands of sweaty tourists before me
I don’t think it’ll be a forbidden forest ride as a large part of forbidden journey already takes place there. I would say the same about quidditch but a quidditch ride would keep the competitive aspect that made duelling dragons so popular.
I think they should build a ride similar to the Navi river journey based on Newt’s suitcase from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them It would be full of traditional animatronics with changing scenery projections for all the different climates. Lots of merchandising opportunities too- I’d love a plush Demiguise or Occamy Universal is lacking in ‘real’ rides that don’t rely on simulations and there isn’t a family friendly Potter ride as such- just a mini-coaster for the very little ones and a couple of rather scary ones!

Was it talk like a pirate day yesterday?

I don't think it will be a VR ride. However, 3D screens will probably be involved somewhere. Universal love their screen-based attractions.
