Universal less crowded than Disney. Early October

I have looked at Oct 2017 busy day guide and it looks like the Universal parks where lots quieter than Disneys.

I am looking at weekends and Columbus day weekend mostly. Would this actually be the case ?

From the threads I remember from last year people were saying Disney was a lot busier than Universal. It would make sense that the stats would back that up.

Columbus Day isn't a massive game changer with regards to crowd levels.

I have read lots of posts saying Columbus day weekend was heaving and lots saying that it makes no difference. Confusing, but also I guess its individual perspective.

We are hoping to avoid the busiest times so just wondered if hitting Universal those days would be better.

Perception plays a big role. I was live reporting from MK once saying how quiet it was and the ride times low. Another DIBBer was posting from MK at the same time saying it was really busy. I thought I was in a parallel universe
