Prescription Glasses
Hi all
The bi-ennial eye test is due this Summer and I'm wondering about getting it done and the resulting glasses made up while in Florida Anyone with experience of this or opinions on it ? Would love to hear about it |

Just make sure you have a signed copy of your prescription with you as it can only be made from this, and has to be signed from a registered optometrist.
Also bear in mind some can take up to a couple of week to be made up |

Can get a checkup and glasses made in a couple of hours. Walmart will do both but they send out the glasses so it takes longer.
If you have glasses they can "read" them and make a new pair. At least they did for my Dad when he sat on his glasses and broke them. Eyeglass express is doing a 2 pair of simple lenses for 39.81 right now. Watch out for the ads on TV. |

Thanks all
Early middle age has meant my prescription has become quite complicated I need the most sophisticated varifocals for work, photo chromatic coating for going outside, anti glare coating for driving and anti scratch coating for being a careless sob I have astigmatism and I'm short sighted. I can still see a hole in a ladder though Specs Savers and Optical Express on this side of the world would have me empty my wallet and credit card to get new glasses but I've done reasonably well with an optician I've known for 20 years We will be in Orlando for 3 weeks and I do need my prescription done from scratch again so old prescription of academic use only. I will try WalMart and LensCrafters - fancy me some new frames too Will also need prescription sunglasses I Edited at 06:29 PM. |

Great folks👍 - appreciating all the valuable info 📝
I am hoping WalMart will be good for doing the Eye Test and getting me fixed up with good quality frames and lenses |

Hi, my DH broke his glasses whilst in Orlando so went to Opticians He needed to have complete eye test ect. They were incredibly thorough even took his blood pressure! (meanwhile I was outside panicking what was wrong")they were made in two days and he was delighted with them They were roughly £80/100 less than over here. Linda
