Can someone clarify this for me - I've booked via BA and linked it all. When I log into proffered it tells me we owe £344 I assume this will be exchanged for our voucher?

Ha- I have this exact same question! It states £445 to pay - assume that's where the BA car voucher comes in. Can anyone shed any light?

Yes, the voucher stands as payment for the car hire.

I checked with avis preferred before we left at the beginning of the month as my account stated an outstanding balance. Avis confirmed that I had a zero balance to pay on their system. When I collected the car they didn't even take the voucher and I have the paperwork with a zero balance from when I handed car back.

How much was the preauthorisation on your card?

Picked up an avis car in vancouver a couple of days back that was booked through BA and they have held £201.44 on my credit card. So looks like it is the £200 noted in the opening thread with a little variation for the exchange rate used.

All car hire companies take Pre auth. used to be £100 but now looks like they want more.

Means if you prang it and dispute they have the right to take £200 at least

We were preauthed by avis for $100 when we were there in July. (my credit card App shows pending transactions and it was in there)

I used BA and this was prepaid... however i still ended up with a charge and i have queried this with BA..
