Gas - pay at pump

Has anyone managed to get this working? Was in Boston earlier in the year and I couldn't get it to work with either Visa or Amex... Wondered if it was my cards or not.

Yes it works fine but be aware, people have stated for security go in a pay, its open to cloning doing it via the pump. Im sure its safe but we didn't risk it.

I tried this once (in 2012) and it didn't work. I later found out that this was because pay at pump doesn't work with foreign cards. Since then I have always paid in store.

If you buy a prepaid card in the USA and register to a US Zip code you can use it at the pumps

The only secure way to ensure cards don't get cloned at gas stations is to pay with cash and this applies to residents here too.

Always best to pay cash if possible at gas stations.

I never use a credit card at US gas stations. I also don't use one at certain ones in the UK either - we know which ones that are as warm as toast!

Agree AB - another cash payer here, won't take the risk, irrespective of how small it may be. Other Fla friends are in your camp... speaks volumes when Fla residents are cash only users at petrol stations.

Wawa Gas stations were reported last year as being specifically targeted for cloning at the pumps. Will always, always pay cash

It worked Once on holiday and the other twice we had to pay in side.
