Heathrow Hopper/Express
Having not flown from Heathrow for over 20 years (Terminal 4 was new then!), we are flying from Terminal 2 in 2 weeks. We will be getting the Heathrow Hopper from our hotel (Marriott), but as I understand it - that will take us to Terminal 5, from which we need to get transport to terminal 2 - have you done this and if so is it straightforward - is there a cost and what are the time allowances required?
Thanks Mike Edited at 10:46 PM. |

Yes the Hoppa goes to T5 from the Windsor Marriott.
Once at T5 you can transfer either by the Heathrow Express Train or the London Underground. Both services are free, however, if you are using the Underground you will need an Oyster Card or a Contactless Payment Card (which will not be charged). Heathrow say the average journey time is 20 minutes for the train and 16 for the tube which allows for waiting time as the actual journey is a fraction of that. -Steve

Thanks Steve - the Heathrow Express looks the best bet - is it well signposted, bearing in mind we have 4 children and associated luggage.

Not sure how many of you but AK think the Hoppa is £3 per person? Maybe you could ask the hotel how much is a taxi ride to T2 if there's at least 4 of you.

Terminal 4 is now 30 years old!
The hoppa is not a great service as it will be quite expensive,2 adults at £4.50 each way booked in advance, with 2 kids for free. You would then need to pay for the other kids, and have to deal with getting the luggage on and off. Personally, I would look to get a taxi. heathrow/transport-an...es/hotel-buses However, the H3 does go to Terminal 2 so no need to go to T5. The bus will also stop at other hotels and is not direct and runs about every 20-30 minutes. |

Which Marriott are you staying at? I assumed you were at Windsor when you said you could only get to T5. As Madfish has pointed out the H3 goes direct from the Heathrow Marriott.

The H3? - Does that mean that the bus H3 goes to terminal 2? We have pre booked Hoppa return tickets with 3 free places for our children - £24 in all - not sure I could get a taxi both ways for less than that.
...and yes it is the Windsor Marriott. Edited at 10:24 PM. |

In that case my original reply is correct. The H3 is of no use as it goes from the Heathrow Marriott which is on the Bath Road.
