Weather sept/oct
We have only ever visited first fortnight in May. This year we are going last week sept/ first week oct. Is the weather much different with what we are used to in May? What about rain?

It's very hot and can be very wet in September but will generally get cooler and drier as you get into October.

As above, it is still very hot (hi 80s) and the possibility of mid afternoon rain.
In about 15 visits mid/late September, last year was the 1st time we've been affected by a hurricane threat. Fortunately it only lasted a day or so and we were soon back to normal weather. |

It's our favourite time of year to go, the weather is good and the crowd levels are low. Now that DS is in high school we can't go at that time of year. The only minor irritation is that September is Love Bug season.

Done both months last year and really noticed the increased heat and humidity in September! We left 28th September and it still felt like June heat. Apparently the weather forecaster was hoping it would "cool" a bit into October. Personally I found it very hot! Much preferred end Apr/ early May.

September very hot, very humid. October still very hot, not quite so humid. I still like September, because of crowd levels, but my God, it's uncomfortable to be outdoors for more than 10 minutes without ducking into some aircon.

That's not a given. We went in 2014 and it rained every day bar the last two and it was for at least half a day, sometimes longer. It's weather so it's not guaranteed. Last year was much better and we only had a couple of brief storms. I often see people say it'll rain every day but only briefly and having been many times in September that's just not always true.

We went 25th September until 9th October last year and were there for the hurricane (that luckily veered enough out to sea at the very last minute so wasn't a direct hit) which closed everywhere, even the parks for 1 day. Granted, that's a rare occurrence but I think it only fair to warn you that September is a peak month for hurricane season. The chances of having it majorly affect your holiday is low - however, it is a real risk. Many lost 2-3 days from the start of their holidays last year, and we lost 2.5 days whilst there, being on a mandatory room curfew, everywhere shut, and preparing for the worst.
