Places to stop over from Miami to Orlando
Hi All
Looking at flights and coming into Miami seems the cheapest. Dont really want to stay in Miami as we done that last time and whilst the hotel was lovely think the whole area is nowhere near as nice as it used to be years ago. So thinking if we do go into Miami can anyone suggest anywhere nice inbetween Miami and Orlando we could stay over to break the journey up. Thanks x |

Hollywood Beach or Fort Lauderdale are both nice and an easy drive from Miami.

It's been a little while since I was at either but yes, they both felt very safe, much more so than Miami. We stayed right on the seafront in both places, don't know whether that made a difference.

Vero Beach is absoloutely lovely, it's about 2 hours from Miami though, we stopped off on our drive up to Orlando. We stayed in the Hilton by MIA, I wouldn't have gone into Miami itself, just didn't like the feel of the place!

We stayed at the Wyndham at Deerfield Beach, fabulous hotel, great location and the best bar/restaurant near by.

Have you looked at flying BA into Fort Lauderdale. We found it cheapest when booking our flights for this October. We will be staying first night in Fort Lauderdale as didn't want to put kids in the car straight after the long flight and it looks really nice. Nights 2 and 3 we are staying Cocoa Beach before driving up to Orlando. It splits up the drive and adds a little something different before the madness of Disney.

Deerfield Beach gets my vote everytime, nice promenade to walk along in the evening. We've stayed at the Embassy Suites a few times and would recommend it.
