Airmiles use
We have circa 130,000 air miles, and have a trip to Mexico coming up in April, it will cost us 88k miles or £1600 to upgrade the 4 of us to PE. We going MAN to Cancun via Atlanta. After the trip we’ll have accumulated enough for another 60k miles and have a companion flight voucher.
My question is, is this 88k miles a decent use of the miles to upgrade? We flew PE for the first time last week and it felt worth it for us. Or I could leave them and have nearly 200k miles and a voucher for the next trip?!?! ? Just trying to work out how best to use them, Decisions, decisions! Edited at 09:38 PM. |

I only use miles for business or first and would save for that. However I am travelling in a couple and so it is very feasible for us, maybe a bit harder for four but not impossible, I sometimes have two companion vouchers lined up. I think 22k airmiles per person for an upgrade to PE is reasonable.

I thought it was quite reasonable and a good way to use them for a 9 hour flight. I’ll still have enough for me and the missus to get away later in the year 😉
